American Rose Society patrons and guests are encouraged to participate in our wide variety of site-seeing opportunities during the convention. Registered guests receive complimentary transportation, not only to and from Reagan National Airport, but to the Pentagon City Mall where you can either shop or transfer to Metrorail for self-guided trips. |

City Tour of Washington, Embassy Row, and Arlington Cemetery

| First time visitors to the area will especially enjoy our city tour of Washington, DC. This is a professionally guided tour which takes you past major landmarks such as the US Capitol, Library of Congress, and White House as well as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Embassy Row. This four hour tour includes a stop at Arlington Cemetery where you can see the Tomb of The Unknown and Changing of the Guard. Tickets available for either September 25th or 26th so be sure and indicate which day you want on your registration form. | ![]() |

Historic Tour of Mount Vernon and Old Town Alexandria

Be sure and round out your stay by visiting the former home of George Washington, also known as Mount Vernon. This four hour tour features a drive through the historic seaport of Old Town Alexandria where some cobble stone streets are still in use. Your tour fee includes an entry pass to Mount Vernon where you will see the mansion and gardens along the scenic Potomac River. Tickets available for either September 25th or 26th so be sure and indicate which day you want on your registration form. |

Private Garden Tour

Our private garden tour will include several selected gardens of Northern Virginia as well as Arlington's fifty-two year old Bon Air Memorial Rose Garden. Bon Air covers about an acre, features hundreds of roses, and is the site for one of the ARS test gardens. This popular tour includes a box lunch and runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 27th. |

Kennedy Center Show

On Saturday evening, you will have an opportunity to see this elegant cultural center overlooking the Potomac River and attend a major performance. Following dinner at the hotel (changed due to contractural commitments), you will travel by motorcoach in time to see Shear Madness, a fun, audience-interactive whodonit mystery. After the show, you will receive a highlight tour and a chance to look behind some doors not generally open to the public. |

Church and Garden Tour

| On Sunday, September 28th, you can choose from one of two churches in Washington, DC with follow-on transportation to a nearby public rose garden. Tour A will take you to the Washington National Cathedral arriving in time for you to attend a 9:00 am Protestant service. Afterwards, your bus will take you to see a magnificent example of an urban rose garden. Tour B will take you to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception arriving in time for you to attend a 9:00 am Catholic Mass. Afterwards, your bus will take you to the Franciscan Monastery for a view of the beautiful rose garden shown at right. | ![]() |

Post-Convention Tour

| Another popular attraction while visiting the Washington area is our trip to Colonial Williamsburg. This is an all day trip scheduled for Monday, September 29th which allows you to see, not only well preserved, 18th Century buildings, furnishings, and colonial era costumes, but some of the finest examples of Georgian architecture on the Eastern Seaboard. During your leisurely six hour stay in Williamsburg, you will have ample time to dine at one of the restored taverns, see craftsmen practicing their trade, and visit some of the many landscaped gardens. Transportation and entry pass are included; however, meals are on your own. | |||||||||||
